Hydropower in the Czech Republic is made up of large and small hydroplants alike. Many Czech hydroplants have undergone significant renovations in the last 15 years in order to increase installed capacity and supply the Czech grid with an increasing proportion of renewable electricity, to help the country achieve its long-term sustainability goals. Currently, over 2 GW of installed capacity generate almost 2 TWh of electricity per year. However, potential generation from hydropower in Czech Republic is estimated at 3.4 TWh.
