With approximately 4.2 billion of the world’s population living in cities at the moment, 66% of global energy consumption derives from such urban areas, where we use and waste a lot more than we could give. Urban Renewables aims to achieve high-performance green cities through high integration of renewables in the energy supply, among other things.
This power plant is located in the Sahapat Industrial Park, Lamphun, Thailand. It generates green electricity from biomass from agricultural residues collected by local farmers. With 9.9 MW of installed capacity, this power plant generates 66 GWh of electricity per year.
